THROUGH THE LENSES OF GOD
When a child is born, he can be compared with a clean sheet of paper. He comes void of the contamination the world has to offer, But overtime, after sufficient interaction with his physical environments, family, school, etc., this child is exposed to the process of gaining experiences which begins to draw and imprints on what was once a clean sheet of paper, now a baby who has no cares, worries or fears starts to develop what we call mindsets, ideologies which in most time is not gotten from the truth of God’s word.
An average human, by the age of 15 has a compilation of different thoughts about themselves, habits and lifestyle patterns which may be positive, negative and sometimes even self-destructive. When such a person is met with the gift of salvation that is made available to all man by grace Ephesians 1 vs 6, he is introduced to a new system of leadership and consequently a new way of life, renewed mindsets and a new consultancy system.
I would like to focus on this consultancy system in this article, which is the word of God.
It is not a new fact that we live in a world that is largely void of the truth of God, but as Christian we are to display the truth of God's word through our lives, the bible calls us lights of the world Isaiah 60 vs 2, but what the happens when these lights are still bound by the lies of this world?
In our journey with God, it is of utmost importance that we grow to the point that our reference point is nothing less than the truth of God's word, we must strive to learn to see ourselves through the lenses of God. The importance of this can never be overemphasized because most of our ideologies and mindsets that was formed during the process of growing up doesn't align with what God has said about us, some of the realities that some of us willing confess in our lives are lies that the devil has sold to us under the pretense of life experiences, but we must consciously substitute these lies with the word of God, the bible calls it a renewal of our mind through the word of God Ephesians 4 vs 23 - 24.
“Growing up as a child in school, I was never one of the last students in the class by the conventional school grading system, but I wasn't any close to the top students, so I was an average student by description, after being exposed to an environment that compares me and always reminds me that I was just average, in no time I had started describing myself as that, and it wasn’t just me, I can tell a lot of kids started seeing themselves in that light because, I can recall that teacher would stroll into the class and ask for a student who is smart enough and we would always point to a specific kid who we thought was better than ourselves, but I now know that the devil is a liar and I that I was made in the image of God, which makes me an excellent being because my creator is excellent”.
And this is just one of the many ways the devil has tried to box us into the standards of life and robbing us of seeing our true potentials, but we thank God for the gift of salvation and the possibility of renewing our minds through his words, But it is process that we must go through personally, the process of finding out what God is saying about your life is a personal journey and must be embarked on individually by making out time to feed on God's word and by having continuous fellowship with the holy spirit.
Dear brothers and sister, as we continue to look up to God and we continue to spend time with him and the truth of his words, I pray that we all come into the truth of God concerning our live, so that the end result is that glory was given to God through our lives.
AMEN. May God continue to increase our strength in him and grant us mercy to serve him more.
ReplyDeleteGod bless you Amarachi .A very inspiring and transformative content .
ReplyDeleteA renewing of mindset indeed, instead of renewing this through what people say, or waiting for new experiences to redefine ourselves, we simply look at the original blue print of what we ought to be, a d that is in God's Word. Thank you Amara for expounding on this.
